Good To Know!
* You can get here pretty easily by bus but flying is also an option!
*Some people rent vans and drive here too (about 8 hours). We have heard of some renting a car with a tent so they can sleep at a caravan park (see hotel list).
*This is an extremely chill town and you are pretty much meant to just relax and have fun all weekend!

Balloon Aloft
Such a fun and exhilarating way to see Byron Bay!
Nimbin
An absolute must! This town is located about 1 hr and 15 minutes inland from Byron Bay. It is considered a hippie "stoner" town. We recommend using Happy Coach which includes a roundtrip ticket, lunch and a stop along the way at a waterfall.
Dreamworld
Dreamworld is the biggest amusement park in the southern hemisphere. A bit of a drive but so fun!!
Kayaking
Sea kayaking with really cool Australian surfer teachers and you see whales and turtles and dolphins come right up to your kayak so it’s so fun and beautiful.
Byron Bay Lighthouse Walk
Beautiful hike to a lighthouse right on the ocean that takes you to the
Easternmost part of Australia. Go at sunrise!
Killen Falls
A little dirty but so fun! Takes about an hour by bus and even less by car! To get the most out of it schedule a day tour!
Downtown Byron Bay
Such a great area to walk around and check out the cute stores! Jonson Street has live music!
Whale Watching Cruise
Spend 2 hours on the water with a marine biologist in search of Humpback whales!

Airbnb

Shirley Street
Another great - walk to town - option.
Hotels
Waves Hotel
On the nicer side but great - walk to town - location. They are very strict and do not allow more than 3 to a room. Room that sleeps 3 approx $105 per night, per person.
Caravan Park
Bonny Hills Caravan Park
Can stay here on the way to Byron Bay. It is about half-way. Really pretty spot that overlooks the ocean!
