2. You need a permit of stay when you arrive so make sure to bring multiple copies of your passport, visa, (acceptance letter to Bocconi, if applicable), insurance forms, and basically everything you needed when you applied for a visa in the first place or else you will have to find a printer.
3. Either get tickets to a lesser known show during Fashion Week or at least stand outside to watch the celebs. It is a Milan must!
4. Wine is cheaper than water!
5. Uber is not really used in Milan, but since the demand is more scarce, the experience is extremely elevated. In most cases you will need cash for cabs.

The tram and metro system definitely take a bit of time to get used to, but eventually it became easy. Your maps app will be your best friend. The trams that run above ground are slow, annoying, and jerky, but they get you from place to place (for free!) You need a pass to go through the metro but you can just scan your credit card.

DIS School Tips
DIS has multiple buildings where classes are held. These buildings are fairly spread out but also all within walking distance of each other
In between classes you have about 20 minutes which goes by fast especially if you have to go change buildings
You need your DIS id to get into just about every building and every floor - so have it in your phone ideally or with you always
There are so many stores, shops, cafes, etc near DIS

DIS Visa Info
A great feature about living in Copenhagen through DIS is that you do not have to suffer through hassle of getting a Visa before you arrive. However, we prepared to sacrifice a weekend in the beginning to deal with your Visa through DIS. Good news is they make it super easy and everyone is the same weekend!
DIS Travel
Through whatever core class you apply into you will travel with DIS to various locations. The trip is paid for entirely by DIS. You can choose week 1 or week 2. If you are there with friends make sure you choose the same week otherwise you will have two weekends when you cannot travel together. When you apply into DIS look at the syllabus of your core class and it will say where you are going and which week!

Location Tips
If you are going to University of Edinburgh and you want to be in an awesome location but don’t really care about living standards stay in Robertsons.
Darroch Court is also a good location and the flats are nicer.
If you don’t care about location, live in one of the flats with your own bathroom because those will be nicer and have elevators.
