Tips & Tricks
*The tipping culture in Florence is basically rounding up, it obviously depends on the amount of the service, on a meal 5-10% is plenty. for a beauty service appointment 10% is about right.
*055-4242 is the best and most reliable taxi number. They run 24/7. When you call them, be prepared to say your address (in English is fine) and they will be there in under 5 minutes.
*You can take the tram from Santa Maria Novella train station to the airport and it takes about 20 minutes. It is the last stop on the tram. They start at 5am or 5:30am. If you have a flight that is earlier than 7:30am it is safest to call a taxi.
