Airport to City Center
Lots of options to get to/from the airport!
Train
It is easy to get to the city center from Munich Airport via train. It should take you 35-40 minutes. Take the S-Bahn on either the S1 or S8, they run 10 minutes apart.
Bus
Lufthansa Express Bus is a nonstop bus from the airport to the city center. There is a bus every 20 minutes.
Uber
You can get an Uber from the airport but it may cost between 60€ - 70€ for the ride
Taxi
You will find taxi’s outside Terminal 1 at the airport. It will cost about the same as an Uber.
Train

Getting to the Tents
The U4 (green) and U5 (yellow) lines run directly from Odeonsplatz, Karlsplatz/Stachus or Hauptbahnhof to Theresienwiese station which is the closest station to the tents.

Description
Oktoberfest!
Most American students go to the Hofbräu Festzelt Tent. Bring cash because most places do not take credit cards. You will spend between €110-€130 each day. If you do not have a reservation you need to get there early (7:45AM). They will not let you eat or drink unless you are at a table! You can stay all day and into the night.
Deutches Museum
Worlds biggest science and technology museum. Worth checking out if you are into science.

Led in English and a great way to get a full overview of the city!
Eisbach River Wave
In the summer there are surfers and you can find places to swim in it too!
English Gardens
Munich's largest park - see the river surfers if you can!!!!! Has a piano player there who constantly plays beautiful music to match the beautiful scenery! You can also eat here at one of the cafes.
Marienplatz
This is the main square of Munich. Go at 11 am to see the glockenspiel

Olympia Park
Such a pretty park. Packed with people in nice weather. You can rent a boat for the lake.

It is free!!! Just sign up online. You will see all the best sights Munich has to offer.
Rathaus-Glockenspiel
Very famous! This is the big clock tower and it puts on shows every day at 11am, 12pm, (and 5pm from March to October)

18 min walk to tents. Very clean and well situated. A four person, private room approx $207 pp per night during Oktoberfest or $33 pp, per night off market.
Wombat City Hostel Werksviertel
About a 25 min walk to the tents. It is not the cleanest and they jack up the prices for the event but the location is ideal. Doubles approx $150 per night, pp. for Oktoberfest and $70 per night, pp off market.
Hotel AM Nockherberg
35 min walk to tents. In a quieter area. Clean 3 star hotel. Need to book early. Rates unavailable for Oktoberfest 2023.

Citandes Arnulpark Hotel
Great option! A 15 minute walk from the Oktoberfest grounds and it fit 4 people. 2 in the bed and 2 in a pull out couch. Strongly suggest.
Holiday Inn City Center
Typical Holiday Inn but is a good option for Oktoberfest and is in the city center. Twin rooms approx $200 per night, per person. There is an option for a King room with a single sofa bed that sleeps 3 people that is around the same amount.
Hotel Schlicker
They have a variety of room options at different price points. About a 30 min walk to Oktoberfest tents.
Hotel Stachus
A good option in a good location at reasonable prices. About a 20 min walk to tents.
Koos Hotel Munich
Great location just a 7 minute uber to festival, 20 minute walk. Very close to train. Can fit five people in the room and they don't care if you book a four person room. Some rooms come with kitchens and washing machines. They also sell Dirndl's in the lobby!

Amazing option! The junior suite allows for 4 to a room. They have Dry Bar products in the bathrooms! Very close walk to tents.

15 min walk to tents. Doubles from $330 pp per night.
Courtyard Marriott City Center
15 min walk to tents. Doubles from $400 pp per night. You can do 3 to a room here and you can order a cot (but you do have to pay for it).
Hotel Metropole
A more upscale option. It is a 15 minute walk to the tents.
Hilton Munich Park
Nice option and can fit 3 to a room. Doubles approx $220 pp, per night.
Westin Grand Munich
Obviously nice to stay at a well-known brand. They will allow 3 in a King room. You can also pay 60€ for a rollaway.
Dirndl How To
You will need to get either a very good push up bra or a Büstenhalter, which can be purchased with your outfit. To be worn comfortably, make sure the sizing is correct, they are not one size fits all. There is a very specific way to tie your Dirndl, which is highlighted in the link below. We have some suggested outfitting locations but most hostels will sell them at a discount. They can cost anywhere from €75-€200.

Bavarian Outfitters
The place to go to rent for Oktoberfest. They have all you need at pretty good pricing but you should reserve in advance! Get there early to pick up your rental as there will be lines. A lot of boys rent from here!

Can try to get a deal if you are buying multiple outfits (60€ per Dirndl). Has lots to choose from! Located by the Hotel Europäischer Hof

This outlet store will have the most economical options and should still have outfits available.
The Galeria Kaufhof
They have reasonably priced outfits but supply may be limited at time of event.
Gottseidank
A newer label. Prices are pretty steep but you should be able to find something for everyone!
Leder Fischer
Near the Marienplatz. They have slightly less expensive options. Worth checking out.
Picknweight
Good inexpensive option. They have two locations. If you get there early (Thursday) you will have a lot more to choose from than if you wait till Friday.
Trachtenrausch
A wide variety of traditional costumes. They typically sell between €99-€200.
