Sights
Doge Palace
Formerly the Doge's residence and the seat of Venetian government, the Palace is the very symbol of Venice and a masterpiece of Gothic architecture.
St Marks Basilica
The cathedral church of the Patriarchate of Venice. I very important monument! They actually hold services here to this day.
St Marks Campanile
is the bell tower of St Mark's Basilica in Venice, Italy. pay €10 to go to the top and get a 360 view of the island
St. Marks Square
Definitely walk around here and look at all the cute shops (but would recommend going on the side streets to buy stuff - especially glass art - because it will be cheaper back there.)
If you going during carnival, Feb 3-13, there is a ton of music and activity in the square.

Rialto Bridge
Famous bridge in Venice. Definitely walk here and see the views but shops are more expensive. Good spot for a pic!
Tours & Activities
Cooking Class
Super fun activity! Learn to make pasta and tiramisu in a small group setting. The chef is super nice and she does the class in her house (which feels a little weird at first). She is amazing with food allergies, even making a gf gnocchi for one of our attendees!
Food Tour
Venice can sometimes get a bad rap for the food but the locals always seem to know where to go for the best stuff!
Gondola Ride!
You can do this any time of day but doing it at sunset does make it a little extra. Book in advance if it's busy and try to haggle. Five people fit in a gondola, and it is typically $40/person. Pick the longest tour to go past Marco Polo’s house and spend the most time possible along the canals. You can also pre-book using a tour company (linked)!
Guided Tour St. Marks Basilica & Doges
A great way to see it all! Includes a skip-the-line pass, which can come in very helpful here. Lasts 2 hours.
Libreria Acqua Alta
An atmospheric, medieval-themed book store hides in a 13th-century underground space. You can get cool postcards, books, mementos here.
Visit Burano!
Take a water taxi to Burano from the main island. It was sooo worth
it! Burano is known for its lace-making and of course super adorable colorful
houses, but also sells tons of hand-blown glass from nearby Murano. Lots of cute little shops and gelaterias, great to just walk around and take in the sights. It’s known as the rainbow island for a reason! Very easy to get to also—took about 30-40 min on the water taxi (aka ferry) and was around 9 euros/ticket.
Do a tour of both Murano & Burano for a full experience. Everyone says this is THE BEST!!

Visit Murano!
An absolute MUST!!!!! See the incredible island known for their beautiful glass blowing. You can go on your own or through a tour (and can combine with a trip to Burano!)
